Our mission is to help Iowa fund building efficiency, renewable energy, and zero-emissions technology projects across our state.

Our state is undergoing a shift towards renewable energy generation and growing demand for carbon-efficient buildings. Both private and public resources are being allocated to support the completion of these projects. Iowa Energy Fund (IEF) is a non-profit organization that aims to "meet the moment" by ensuring all Iowans benefit from more efficient use and cleaner generation of energy.

We believe this includes achieving the following:

  • Enable our state's financial institutions and private investors to provide capital to this sector while benefiting from profitably diversifying and growing their loan and investment portfolios and producing meaningful economic benefits for communities across our state.

  • Provide critical funds for the rehabilitation of Iowa’s affordable housing stock and reduce energy cost burdens for the residents.

  • Ensure that low-to-moderate income (LMI) and historically underserved communities reap the economic and health benefits of more efficient and cleaner energy usage and generation.

  • Reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions within our state.

  • Serve as a resource to Iowa residents and other stakeholders for building efficiency, renewable energy generation, and zero-emissions technology programs for homes, businesses, farms, non-profit organizations, schools, universities, hospitals, churches, and municipal buildings in Iowa.
