Dale Todd

Board Member

Dale is the Vice President of Development for the Hatch Development Group, creating mixed-income, affordable housing communities throughout Iowa.  He also previously served the City of Cedar Rapids as Commissioner of Parks and Public Property from 1998-2002 and is serving his fourth term as a Council member and has served as Chair of the Public Safety and Youth Services committee for the last four years.   

Education: Mount Carmel High School, Chicago, Illinois; Coe College and Mount Mercy University, B.A. Criminal Justice, and Political Science. 

Dale has served on more than 40 Commissions, Boards, Planning Groups, and Task Forces throughout his career.  Many of these activities focus exclusively on improving the quality of life in our communities.  Today Dale continues his passion for urban planning, neighborhood development, and recreation by championing innovative projects such as the revitalization of Cedar Lake and the development of housing, trails, and public spaces throughout our city.   He was one of the early leaders of the Wellington Heights Neighborhood Association in the late 90s and worked with neighborhood groups throughout the community to stabilize their neighborhoods and decrease crime.  He is also passionate about helping people with disabilities and serves on numerous state and national epilepsy-related boards and organizations. He is a past chair of the former Iowa Commission on Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities. 

Dale and his wife Sara have one son, Adam, and his service dog Turbo.
